Here is a great tasting nutrient dense smoothie for you to start your day well. Here is the recipe for two people
1 banana (frozen or unfrozen)
2 tablespoons black sesame seeds
2 tablespoons flax seeds
2 teaspoons chlorella or spirulina
1 cup fresh spinach or lettuce
1/2 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon coconut oil
Place all ingredients in the blender with 3 cups water. Blend for a minute or so, until all ingredients are well blended. Serve and enjoy.
This is a nutrient dense recipe with health benefits coming from every ingredient. Chlorella is a heavy metal detoxifier and is full of protein, iron, magnesium and all the amino acids. Black sesame seeds are packed with calcium and zinc among other vitamins and minerals. Flax seeds contain omega 3's and are also a great source of antioxidants. Spinach is full of vitamins A C E and K and is also very high in niacin and zinc.
