The seven foods listed below are all found in the grocery stores and are the best source for iodine and other nutrients/vitamins.
Prunes - 3 Ounces of Prunes contain roughly 34 micro-grams of iodine (prunes are also rich in vitamins and other minerals too). Eating about 5 to 6 prunes a day, you can receive vitamins A, K, iodine, boron, fiber and so on. Prunes are actually really sweet and a easy snack to get a good intake of vitamins.
Dried Seaweed - Contains roughly 4, 500 micro-grams of iodine in a quarter ounce to give you just enough iodine for your daily intake.
Baked Potatoes - The skin of the potato contains potassium, vitamin 1 and iodine. Just one medium potato will give you at least 40% of your daily intake.
Cranberries - Very high in anti-oxidants and iodine. In four ounces you get 400 micro-grams of iodine. You will need to eat them fresh as that is where the highest content is found. Cranberries are also the best food for thyroid infertility.
Curd - It contains enough iodine for at least half of your daily intake at about 80 micro-grams in one cup of serving. Curd also improves your digestive system because of its good source of bacteria culture.
Goat's Milk Cheese - Very good source of many nutrients including iodine, vitamin-B complex and calcium. 15 micro-grams of iodine in one ounce. Anyone who has a sensitive digestive tract should consider eating this cheese,
Milk - One cup of milk contains at least 56 micro-grams of iodine. It clearly also has other nutrients for bone health such as calcium and other vitamins.
