Hello my lovely friends of Steemit!

Welcome back to another page of The Housewife Recipe Book!

Today for the 11th page of The Housewife Recipe Book I will share with you a very easy and simple bread recipe that I cook quite often!

Harcha is a Moroccan bread made with semolina and cooked in the pan!

It is really easy to make and very delicious, I am sure you will enjoy it too!

To make this amazing bread, you will need :

Semolina 500gms
Vegetable oil 3tbsp
Salt 1tsp
Sugar 3tbsp
Yeast 1tbsp
Baking powder 7gms
Warm water 1.5cups

First mix the salt , oil and semolina together till you have like a sandy texture.

This is the texture you should get, same like sand.

Then add the yeast, baking powder and sugar!

Add the warm water and mix till you get a soft dough.
Let it sit for 15 minutes for the semolina to absorb all the water.

Take a round pan, sprinkle with little semolina and place the dough on it.

Press it well to get the round shape.

Transfer to a hot cooking pan and cook directly on both side till golden brown!

This is the result after cooking for about 5 minutes.

Cut and serve while still hot!
Enjoy the harcha with some melted butter and honey!
Cream cheese goes well with it too!

Thank you for reading, yes very easy but when you want to cook it you have to be careful for not break. And the fire have to be slowly for not burning.

Hey! Thanks for the recipe! My husband ( Israeli) will like that. I've got a nice soup recipe for the solar eclipse for you if you are interested. Love

Thank you very much my dear for your intersting, yes you can share it with me, and you know the israelian food it's like Moroccan food, i watched last time one documentary on television about their tradition, had the some spices like which we have in Morocco,
Have a happy day.

Thanks for posting this recipe. I remember eating this kind of bread in Morocco. Before I went to Morocco I thought that Moroccans ate couscous with every meal! Then I arrived and was treated to some of the best breads I have ever eaten! I think my favorite bread from Morocco is Baghrir, all slathered with butter and honey! Do you consider Baghrir bread or crepe or pancake?

Oooo I don't eat bread often but I love semolina bread!
Really nice photo too BTW.

SteemON!

I love cakes with semolina in it. Also, there is no baking required. So, this is perfect for really hot days as you only need a pan. The direct heat works quicker. Perfect! :)

Thank you for sharing this great recipe @creativewoman! :) I'm always happy to find new recipes with cultural background. This winter I will stay in morocco. :)
