Food and Health Awareness | Kohlrabi and its Health Boosting Properties

in #food7 years ago

Hey folks @cryptokraze here with my new Blog about Food and Health awareness in which I will highlight the health benefits associated with Kohlrabi. We should add variety of foods in our diet because they have bio-active components in them that help in preventing many diseases and provide other health benefits.

Health Benefits of Kohlrabi

Health benefits of kohlrabi include the following:

Improves Digestion

Like most vegetables, kohlrabi is an excellent source of dietary fiber and can seriously improve your digestive health. Fiber helps to move the intestines, reduce sputum and bloating, eliminate constipation, and often improves the quality of the digestive system while maximizing the effect of nutrient absorption.

Helps in Weight Loss

Kohlrabi is a perfect vegetarian diet because of its high fiber content, nutritional health, and low calories. Fiber makes us feel full, so despite the low food consumption, we reject the urge to eat between meals or overeating.

Boosts Energy Level

Although these potassium properties are not often discussed, this is one of the main players in the nerve behavior and body's muscle. It helps us to move, react, operate daily and breathe. As a result, the high potassium content of kohlrabi makes it an important supplement to staying alert, healthy in your diet and energetic.

Prevents Anemia

The significant levels of iron found in kohlrabi exist together with potassium levels, as iron helps increase red blood cells in the body, which is anemia (iron deficiency) that is characterized by prevention of anemia, abdominal pain, iron deficiency, failure and disorientation. Important general immune system. The calcium found in kohlrabi also increases the body's absorption of iron, so kohlrabi is a booster around the cardiovascular, and immune systems.

Eye Care

Protecting our ability to see the world is an important part of human nutrition. It is no better than vitamin A. Kohlrabi is a rich source of carotenoids, including beta-carotene, which acts as an antioxidant in the human body especially in the eye area. Vitamin A can help slow, prevent macular degeneration or eliminate the appearance of cataracts. This is accomplished by preventing oxidative stress and neutralizing free radicals in the eye.
