When you grocery shop, it's best not to do so when you're hungry. The reason: you're more likely to pick up lots of unhealthy food.
This goes for online shopping as well (in fact, it might be even worse with online shopping). Shopping on an empty stomach will prompt you to add food to your basket that requires little to no preparation, food that will quickly sate your hunger.
Shopping on a full stomach, however, makes you more likely to reach for the healthier food. Because you're already full, you won't have a problem spending time preparing healthier meals.
There really is a psychology to it.
