Hello my friends. Today is invention day in my kitchen. Today I share with you this step-by-step recipe of the famous pastelitos Maracuchos , filled with potato with cheese and pizza.
I hope you like it and make it at home... I assure you that they are delicious. Starting you must have previously prepared the fillings of the pastelitos. So get to work.
Word "pastelito" when translated into English appears as "cake", clarifying that the “ pastelito maracucho” (VENEZUELA) It is made from a mass similar to that of the “Venezuelan tequeño” with variation in its ingredients.
Ingredientes para el relleno de papa con queso:
- 1 kilo de papas
- 500 gramos de queso duro rallado
Ingredients for the potato filling with cheese:
- 1 kilo of potatoes
- 500 grams of grated hard cheese
Preparation: 1-Peel, wash and cut the potatoes as you like. 2- Boil the potatoes with water until they soften. 3-Remove the potatoes from the heat, remove the water and puree the potatoes. Mix with the grated cheese and reserve.
Ingredientes para el relleno de Pizza:
- 250 gramos de Queso mozarrella rallado.
- 100 gramos de maíz desgranado y cocidos (puede usar maíz enlatado)
- 250 gramos de preparado de salsa para pizza (receta de más abajo).
- Orégano al gusto
Ingredientes para Salsa para pizza casera
- 1 Lata de 400 gramos de tomates enteros
- 1/2 cebolla cortada en tiras.
- 2 dientes de ajo.
- 1 cucharadita de azúcar
- 1 cucharadita de vinagre blanco
- 1/4 de cucharadita de orégano.
- Sal al gusto.
Ingredients for the Pizza filling:
- 250 grams Grated mozarella cheese
- 100 grams Corn shelled and cooked (can use canned corn)
- 250 grams of pizza sauce preparation (recipe below).
- Oregano to taste
Ingredients for Homemade Pizza Sauce
- 1 can of 400 grams of whole tomatoes
- 1/2 onion cut into strips.
- 2 cloves of garlic.
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of white vinegar
- 1/4 of teaspoonful of oregano.
- Salt to taste.
Preparation: it is very easy, crush the tomatoes a little. Add all ingredients in a skillet over low heat for approximately 15 minutes. Let cool.Tips: If you do not have canned corn, you can shelve 2 or 3 pieces of young corn and boil over high heat with water until soft. Remove from the fire. Remove the water, let cool and set aside.

Ingredientes para la masa:
- 8 tazas de harina de trigo todo uso
- 3 huevos
- 2 cucharadas de mantequilla
- 4 cucharadas de aceite comestible
- 2 cucharaditas de polvo para hornear o bicarbonato
- 7/4 tazas de agua
- 1 cucharada de sal
- 2 cucharadas de azúcar
Ingredients for the dough:
- 8 cups all-purpose wheat flour
- 3 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons of edible oil
- 2 teaspoons baking powder or baking soda
- 7/4 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
Procedimiento para la masa:
1 -Mezclar la sal, azúcar, polvo para hornear con la harina de trigo.
2 -Agregar el aceite, la mantequilla y los huevos.
3 -Verter el agua poco a poco e ir integrando con las manos todos los ingredientes.
4 -Volcar la masa en la mesa y esparcir harina para empezar con el amasado.
5 -Amasar por diez minutos aproximadamente, hasta que la masa quede lisa.
6 -Bolear la masa y dejarla reposar por 30 minutos en un envase cerrado o con papel film.
7 -Extender la masa a 1 cm de grosor. puede ayudarse con un rodillo o con una máquina para hacer pasta o laminadora.
8 -Coloque el relleno de su preferencia
9 -Corta y sella.
10 -Freír en abundante aceite a fuego medio hasta que estén dorados por ambos lados.
Procedure for the dough:
- 1- Mix salt, sugar, baking powder with wheat flour.
- 2 -Add the oil, butter and eggs
- 3 -Pour the water little by little and gradually integrate all the ingredients with your hands.
- 4 -Dump the dough on the table and spread flour to start with the kneading.
- 5 -Knead for approximately ten minutes, until the dough is smooth.
- 6 -Roll the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes in a closed container or with plastic wrap.
- 7 -Roll out the dough to 1 cm thick. It can be helped with a rolling pin or with a pasta machine or laminator.
- 8 -Place the filling of your choice
- 9 -Cut and seal.
- 10 -Fry in abundant oil over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
