Lets kick things off with a video, because why not- we all love videos!
We are getting busier and busier on daily basis. It’s completely understandable that we don’t always find time to cook our own meals and take food from home. However, once you turn the packaging of some of your favorite snacks and ‘food on the go’ items and read what the nutrition label sais- it can cause you a headache.
I highly doubt that what was said about McDonalds came as a surprise to anyone. It was just came as a further shock to me on how far are corporations willing to go.
Having the nutritional values of the food you prepare at home is essential when you want to achieve serious results- I’m a big time supporter of that. However, I could not agree more on the fact that the first step is getting into the habit of preparing your own food and not buying it- ready to eat, conveniently packaged for you on the shelf of the store.
There are many truly healthy convenient food option available of course. I myself grab some when on the go but more on that in another post.
Cooking from scratch ensures you have full control over what you decide to eat and what not and that definitely means your meals won’t be packed with preservatives, palm oil, excessive amounts of salt, sodium and all that nasty stuff.
Of course that cooking every meal would seem impossible if you are not in the habit of doing it al all. However, you can always set a goal of cooking from scratch 2-3 meals per week more than you do now. That doesn’t seem impossible right? Every week/ two weeks you can set a new goal and increase the number of meals you prepare yourself until you get into the habit of doing it regularly.
I hope you enjoyed my post and found it useful. What I truly hope for I that you take control over what goes into the food you eat! Share some tips on how you got into the habit of cooking from scratch and how have things changed for you in the comments bellow. I would also be happy to answer questions if you have any.
Have a great day! :)
I think cooking 3-4 times a week is absolutely doable ! Great post and the video is very interesting.
I'm glad you enjoyed my post. Thank you for all the support!
