Today, I have the urge to eat Patin fish when I went to a local hypermarket for some groceries. I bought a whole Patin fish which weight slightly less than a kg. It was priced at RM5.99 per kg. and I knew the price was about there as I often make survey of fish price when I patronize the hypermarket. The price of Patin fish can be very expensive if you eat in a restaurant but the quality is very different.
I have prepared the fish slice and get ready for steaming. There is a mild "earth smell" when I lift up the fish from the steamer. And the cooked slice fish was reasonable fresh but has plenty of fat portion. Normally, these type of Patin fish are cooked with curry to cover the "earth smell" but I prefer steam style.
I know the source of Patin Fish in this hypermarket is from the sea and the quality of the Patin fish in this hypermarket is different from the patin slice I bought online. However, I just wanted to each fish for dinner tonight.
Well, that is the difference of quality of fish for the price you paid.
Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable dinner and this is what is left
