What is healthy

in #food7 years ago

I have not used the word for several years for a long time, because I have convinced that for all this it means something different and there is no unambiguous definition. I spent hundreds of hours reading reading and could not find absolute, unconditional truth about what is healthy. Which diet is the best? Which foods are harmful, which foods are useful? Did I get to wonder what to eat? I'm sure everyone who reads this is asking this question. I concluded that you need to consume food sources (not made from other foods) and have to be consumed in their entirety without being processed.

How did I get to the food sources in their entirety
For example, take almonds - a super healthy diet, but at the same time contain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) that are thought to harm health according to one theory (others are useful). At the same time, they also contain vitamin E, which plays the role of neutralizing the harmful effects of PUFA (if at all, it is true, I doubt everything).

Ie. Almonds in their entirety contain poison and antidote. On the other hand, almond oil is only ground almonds, which may not be considered as processing, but the almond fat comes in contact with the air and oxidizes, turning into "harmful" fat. Is vitamin E in almond oil not "damaged" and no longer antidotes? I do not know the answer to this question. Whatever evidence I can see, I will always doubt whether the research I read is in a controlled environment or does not take into account the factors that are in the uncontrolled, real life.

I recall that nuts, seeds, legumes should be soaked for an average of 8-10 hours to neutralize lectins and phytic acid.

So the advertised Omega-3 fatty acids are PUFA 🙂 including I have taken them as an add-on, and they have a good effect on me, so at least I thought maybe they really acted! Now I would not take them as an add-on, but I would take them only from food, anyway I can not get Omega-3 from the food. After reading, I stopped the supplements because they were getting food.

The nuts and seeds with the highest PUFA content are walnuts, sunflower, sesame, chi, hemp. Almonds have relatively less 🙂 But I eat walnuts, sesame, sunflower and chia. I think that taken as a whole contains poison and antidote.

What to eat - everything is harmful and it requires soothing and other spells?
For myself I have chosen to eat almonds (almonds are an example). I'm kidding them tonight if I think the next day I'm going to eat almonds. I sometimes soak them in the morning and eat them at noon. Sometimes I did not soak them at all. I'm not trying to think "It's not soaked, so I will not eat it." I make the maximum possible according to the situation. Sometimes the maximum possible is to eat unprotected nuts and that's ok. I eat almond oil - I think it's not OK, but I eat it because I like it. I like to use it in pastries. I do not want to subdue my thoughts on what is healthy and what does not. I have basic rules - source foods unprocessed, but if I want almond oil - I eat almond oil!

What is Healthy?
Depending on where I am currently, healthy now is different from healthy several years ago and healthy in the future. If 100g of chocolate is eaten every day, reducing 50g of chocolate a day seems like a 50% improvement. I do not eat chocolate and it seems to me unhealthy to eat 50g of chocolate each day. But for the one who has reduced chocolate in half, this is a huge improvement in health.

What I think is healthy
Reducing food.

I think many diseases are overeating. People are greedy. And I'm a greedy one. I eat regularly and then I take the antidote by not eating 8-10-16 hours (I'm waiting for a natural hunger, I do not eat after eating, because it's time for breakfast or lunch, but I'm waiting for a hunger).

Reducing calories always brings health benefits (it's not about systemic malnutrition). Maybe I should point out studies of this theory, but as I said I do not believe them 🙂 I can find research to support any thesis.

What I see from my work with clients is that they always improve their health regardless of whether they are vegan or eat mainly animal food. The common among them is calorie reduction, reduction of subcutaneous fat and regular exercise (for one regular 5 times a week, another 3 times, the issue is that there is a physical load).

Rummy's opinion on how to improve your health

  1. Reduce food. Do not jam your body.
  2. Regularly use your body through physical activity.
  3. Target your thoughts so that you can expect the best.

What do you think about the subject healthily?
I find it interesting to read the comments. I read absolutely every one of them.
