Driving through Allentown, New Jersey, we decided to stop by Woody's Towne Cafe, located at 27 South Main Street. What a great little breakfast / lunch place! Already in the holiday spirit, I decided to go with their Gobbler special, which is basically turkey with all the traditional sides. The turkey was on top of the pile and I am very serious when I say it melted in your mouth. The stuffing was a bread stuffing which reminded me of how my mom used to make it.
The cranberry sauce tasted like it was homemade and was served in a cup on the side. The gravy gave the whole dish a down-home feel. It came with french fries, which I thought was a little bit of overkill. They were good, but they added to an already filled plate. Needless to say, I couldn't finish everything. If you find yourself in this area, it is well worth the stop. I hear their own bread is fabulous. My meal came with thick Texas Toast which worked well with everything on top of it! I am always finding the best food when I am not in a position to doggie bag it.
