In Uruguay, BBQ is a way of living. Its a HUGE part of our culture, we are a beef producing nation, and we consume our beef in a ritual like atmosphere. Yes... we burn wood and cook the meats with that, gas fueled BBQs are nowhere to be seen here.
Its a national tradition to eat "asado" (BBQ) on Sundays, and it is the excuse for the whole family to gather together and share a meal.
Here are some pictures from today at my mum`s house. There is beef, chorizo, pork and chicken. We also cook provolone cheese, in these ceramic trays, and we put it by the fire for it to melt nicely and it also gets that lovely smokey flavor.
Hope you guys enjoy seeing this, which is a big part of our culture.
Thanks for passing by!
