Binignit is very common in Central Philippines. We, Cebuanos love to eat this dessert, a very delicious food.
Most of the time this food is usually cooked during the Holy Week specially on Good Friday. It is more delicious when served and eaten hot during the cold and rainy season. Binignit is traditionally made with slices bananas, sweet potatoes, (others include jackfruit, but on my case I did not include since its not found in the market) landang, variety of sago, coconut milk, sugar and glutinous rice. Try now and I can guarantee you that it is super delicious because of its coconut milk too. And oh wait! this food is also available in native restaurants.
