I woke up this morning craving the Nigerian delicacy called Garri with sugar and milk.
For those who don't know, Garri is produced from cassava tubers. Oyibo call it cassava flakes. Garri is considered a life saving meal eaten by an average Nigerian man. Secondary School or High school students as some may call it consume garri the most.
If you have never soaked garri, it means you never schooled in Nigeria. During our high school days we called it GSM. i.e Garri, sugar and milk. That is how one of my sisters went for an interview for a teaching job and she was asked what is the meaning of GSM. She told them it means Garri, sugar and milk. Lol. The laughed their asses out.
What am trying to say is Garri is a Nigerian delicacy eaten by every average Nigerian. Some people love to soak and drink it. While others make it into Eba using hot water and eat it with Egusi or any other Nigerian soup.
I miss soaking and drinking it.
This is the popular, easiest and fastest recipe of Garri known in Nigeria. This combination is a life-saver indeed. With a cup of cold water, sugar and milk as sweeteners and flavouring, and some groundnuts and coconut (optional), you're good to go.
Garri with sugar, groundnuts, ice cubes, coconut, milk and fish. This one is tagged Garri wey de burst brain.
Nigerians, are we together? That's what I crave right now so am going for it. This one truly is bursting my brain walahi.

Garri, groundnut and sugar for me is bae! But with milk, for me is a no. My stomach protests at the thought of milk. With it. The pictures are tempting though!
