REESE’S CARAMEL CHOCOLATE BARS
BOTTOM LAYER
2 cups peanut butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 Tblsp vanilla
1 cup soft butter
MIDDLE LAYER
32 caramels unwrapped
½ cup butter
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
TOP LAYER
6 square of semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
4 1/2 tblsp butter or margarine
For the BOTTOM LAYER: Mix everything together. Evenly spread it in a pan. Set aside.
FOR THE MIDDLE LAYER: In a saucepan combine the caramels, butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Cook on medium/low heat until the caramels are melted stirring occasionally. Add in the chopped pecans. Pour over first layer and immediately put in the freeze for 4 hours.
FOR THE TOP LAYER: In microwave melt the other half of the chopped chocolate squares with the butter or margarine. Spread over frozen caramel layer. The chocolate will harden immediately. Cut into bars.
