♡ 1 red pepper

♡ ½ onion

♡ Breadcrumbs

♡ 1 can whole peeled tomatoes

♡ 20 fresh cilantro leaves

♡ 1 tbsp. oregano

♡ ½ c.s. of brown sugar

♡ 1 small garlic

♡ 1 cayenne pepper

♡ 2 jalapeños or hot peppers

♡ Sliced Cheddar vegan cheese

♡ Salt

PREPARATION

Preparation time: 30min
Cooking time: 40min
Total: 70min

Cut the red pepper and onion into small pieces. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and start frying the pepper. When it becomes soft, add half the onion and a little salt.

Let it cook until both ingredients are well fried.
Clean the beans (if packaged) and let them drain. Add the sofrito. Chaf with the help of a fork and add breadcrumbs until a consistent mixture is obtained. We form balls of 100gr. that then we will chafaremos to give them the form of hamburger.

To prepare the sauce, heat a little oil in a small saucepan. When it is hot, add the tomatoes (including the liquid), the sugar, the finely chopped cayenne pepper, the chopped garlic, the remaining onion cut into small pieces, the oregano, the cilantro and a little salt. Let it simmer until the room shrinks and loses almost all the liquid. When it is ready, crush the tomatoes a little in the same casserole. Introduce the foot of the crusher, at minimum speed, three or four times, just enough so that the tomato is cut into small pieces and is a grumpy sauce.

Prepare your hamburgers in a frying pan with very little oil, just enough so that they don't stick together (you can take advantage of what's left to prepare the sofrito). Before removing them from the fire, we will put a slice of cheese on them so that it melts. To serve our hamburgers on the bread, accompany them with a little sauce and a few jalapeños cut into slices.

Benefits of Jalapeños

Jalapeños contain a compound known as capsaicin. This compound gives way to its ability to help you fight cancer, lose weight, prevent bacterial growth, fight the common cold through its antioxidants, help stop migraine attacks and improve vision. Let's delve deeper into this hot pepper and explore the benefits of jalapeños.

Helps you lose weight

If losing weight is something you're trying to do, you may want to try the benefits of jalapeños. Capsaicin found in peppers has the ability to help increase your metabolism by increasing core body temperature, according to a study published in 2008. In addition, the hot taste of jalapeños can decrease your appetite a little, making you eat less at mealtimes.

Prevents bacterial growth

Capsaicin is gaining attention because of its potential as an antimicrobial. It was evaluated for its effect on the growth of bacteria, specifically Bacillus subtilis. Bacillus subtilis, known as hay bacillus or grass bacillus, is found in the soil and gastrointestinal tract of humans and herbivorous mammals. According to one study, bacterial growth was largely inhibited due to capsaicin. The study also noted that the growth of E. coli was slower when treated with capsaicin.

Better vision and skin

Only one jalapeño pepper contains 17 percent of the recommended daily amount of vitamin A for men and 22 percent for women, making it an excellent choice for improving eye and skin health. One way to do this is through chipotle, which is a smoked jalapeño. This spicy little gem contains important phytonutrients called lutein and zeaxanthin. They are important because they reach the retina, offer good eye health and, according to the American Optometric Association, obtaining a healthy dose of these nutrients may help reduce the risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, chronic eye diseases and cataracts.
