Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of Eden

in #food7 years ago

It's a great day in the Garden of Eden, and we're having a great feast!

If you want or need food , contact us - we have enough food to share every day!

We observe that our anti candida diet gets us healthier and healthier every day, so it is becoming our new standard to avoid sugar, meat, dairy, and wheat and base our meals in fruits and veggies instead. We are getting tons super plant healing powers with every meal!

We had a beautiful, colorful salad with shredded golden beets, cucumbers, green onions, juicy red tomatoes, and garden greens.

We made a large pot of simple mashed potatoes. We boil the potatoes with fragrant onions and garlic, and mash it when it is fork tender with a little bit of the cooking water. We get a creamy, starchy, satisfying dish without any of the cream, milk, or butter that goes into traditional mashed potato (or the sour cream, cream cheese, and other cheeses we include in our fancy versions)!

One of the inspiring parts of changing eating habits is learning healthier ways to prepare your favorite dishes! We evolve our cooking skills while we make our bodies stronger! It can really be lots of fun.

We adapted our normal frittata formula to cut out the milk and cheese we would usually include. We include lots of fresh herbs and garlic so that it is still jam packed with flavor! We tend to have an abundance of fresh eggs, and frittatas are a great way to prepare them for a crowd!

We made a wonderful side of sautéed onions and peppers with garlic and more fresh herbs. Today we harvested lemon thai basil, lemon balm, rosemary, and some mint for our dinner!

It's seriously a whole lot of fun to cook outdoors in our sustainable kitchen! The sun is generally starting to set as we prepare dinner, and the Texas wildlife makes all kinds of noises. There's plenty of fresh air, and the smell of firewood with yummy foods cooking wafts all over the property!

Have you checked out @quinneaker's How to Build a Rocket Stove tutorial?? Building a functional stove out of just bricks and dirt might be a fun weekend activity to do in your own backyard with your family or friends! After it dries for some time, you can even cook your own meal on it!!

It's really easy, and you get to play in the mud:

Food is important and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to  inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to  food. We want  to remind everyone to let food be your medicine too!
