Gajar (Carrot) ka Halwa

One cannot announce the arrival of winters without making the season's first gajar (Carrot)ka halwa.One of the most popular Indian dessert.Grated carrots, milk, sugar and nuts are stirred and cooked together.Its presence in most special occassions, Festivals and Parties .

Hi, Steemit friends , I love to share one of the special desert of india which is very tasty and healthy named Gajar ka halwa Which ic made by Carrot.

Key Ingredients: 2 cups thickly grated carrot, green cardamom, 4 tbsp grated low fat mawa (khoya)1 tbsp ghee or butter, almonds, sugar, raisins, milk and nuts.

first Wash ,peel and grate the carrots. Soak the raisins in water for 30 minutes. Blanch and shred the nuts.Heat ghee in a heavy pan and add the grated carrot mixture cook 10 min in medium flame. after that Put the milk to boil, when it starts boiling add the grated carrots.

Cook for 5-7 minutes.keep on stirring often continue cooking until the halwa turns deep reddish color in medium flame.Add sugar, mix well and cook till the sugar has dissolved and all the milk has been absorbed.

after that add grated khoya,and cook for 3-4 minute while stirring continuously.Add the raisins, almonds and cardamom powder nuts and cook for another 1 minute.Serve Gajar (Carrot) halwa warm or chilled .ddcf61b25ea6b7bf7fc326784bff1790.jpg
