I'm primarily Scottish, German, British and Irish.
I love the food in Germany, but, when I'm there, I find it next to impossible to find a vegetable at any restaurant (not counting potatoes).
The Irish in me is screaming ... "The potato is all that you need!"
The German in me is screaming ... "Why would you want a vegetable?"
The Scottish in me is screaming ... "If it is ne Haggis, it's crap!"
The English in me is screaming ... "Why does this food have so much flavour?"
That is hilarious! I wonder how much inner conflict we really have inside of us due to our DNA? I mean, I'm even 2% North African and Ashkenazi Jewish. I have all the bases covered. Maybe this is why there aren't many dishes I don' t like. Lol.
When you look at dog breeds, there are many things that are common in certain breeds. German Shepherds are typically very fast learners and food motivated. *oodles are typically high strung and reactive to their environment. Of course, there are statistical outlyers to everything. And with time and effort, you can train dogs into or out of the behaviours you want.
I'm sure the same goes with humans. At the DNA level, I personally believe our minds are strongly influenced by the hidden codes in our genes. We can actively ignore these signals... but as you mentioned above, if all your genes combined like all kinds of food, dig in!
Very true! DNA is our OS to a certain degree. We can override it but it takes conscious effort.
