Walnuts baked until lightly crusted with a cinnamon glaze. I like these in salads and they are addictive to just eat as a snack.
Ingredients
- 4 cups walnut halves
- 1 egg white
- 1 cup cane or regular sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 200F, 93C
Foil-line a large cookie sheet or baking pan. Lightly oil with peanut or vegetable oil.
In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy and then add in sugar. Continue to mix until combined.
In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and salt. Mix together with a spoon. Add in the vanilla and mix until smooth
Stir the cinnamon mixture into the egg white and mix.
Now fold in the walnuts. Continue mixing until they are completely coated. Spread onto prepared cookie sheet/baking pan.
Bake in pre-heated oven for 75-90 minutes or until the coating on the nuts is crusty.
Cool 5 minutes and let the snacking begin!
