Now in July, is another durian season in Malaysia. This is an important season for many durian lovers because it is the time when durian prices goes down lower than the rest of the year.
Many durian lovers will know about the durian species D24, or Squirrel King. It is the most famous durian that has a special taste of mixture of bitter and sweetest.
Ok enough beating around the bush, as you have read the title, there is other durian that is very rare in the market. It is called the Black Thorn, I am not sure why is it called that but yeah. Black Thorn is one of the best durian because of its texture, it is a bit solid but when you eat it, it melts in your mouth like when you are eating ice-cream. The taste is almost just like the D24 species but the texture will make the eating experience a whole lot different.
Since it is now still not many people know about it, its price is still low. But when the trend gets caught on, the price of it will sky rocket upwards just like the D24. A few years ago, almost all the durians are about the same price, but then due to marketing, now the price of durian will differ due to its species. This allowed some vendors to trick those who are new to this fruit or those who don't know how to differentiate the durians between its species.
So good luck finding the fruit, since it's rare. But don't give up. Enjoy it before the majority picks up with the trend.XD
