The literally coolest way to make ice-cream!
Once I was driving along the esplanade in Cairns on my long board and on the way home I came along a Gelato shop called NitroLato. At first it looked like a normal Gelato but I figured out quickly they were working with liquid nitrogen. I’m not a big fan of ice-cream but I’ve never tasted it when the ice-cream was made that way. At the times I was able to choose between six different flavours and decided to go for ‘Bounty’. It’s nice to see how your ice-cream is getting made in front of you. A small cup is a little bit more expensive than common ice-cream but the taste is better and it seems to be much smoother. The owner claims to be the first one making ice-cream that way in Australia and when I asked him how he got the idea he said there was a documentary on TV about an american gelato shop and he simply brought the idea to Australia.
We prefer gelato better too. Those nitrogen tanks are cool. I wish we had an ice cream store close by like this one. we have to drive half hour.
Nice photos
Whereabouts are you living mate?
Yummy!
I wish i could work there or at least to try delicious ice-creams :)
You should really try it! I figured out months later that a friend of mine worked there.
A mazing post i like it gordan.
Thank you very much!
How's your new work going through?
Hope you're enjoying it now as much as the construction building one.
Edit: Ever consider the home-electrical/locksmith/plumber trade? MAKE LOADS of $$$ there
It's going pretty well! The program for foreigners doesn't allow me to go on those trades, unfortunately. But I'll start a Carpentry apprenticeship soon, can't wait for it!
yummy <3
Never tried an ice cream made with liquid nitrogen but it definitely seems interesting. I've seen what liquid nitrogen can do thanks to documentaries on TV but I didn't expect it to be used for ice cream. Do you think the taste is better than the usual ice creams we buy ? I really don't think we have anything similar here in my country.
Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.
I tried this when a similar Nitrogen gelato bar opened up in Brisbane a couple years ago. It wa more creamy and smooth compared to regular gelato. It’s fascinating to watch and a very smart idea
