Lunch at Kokois: Excellent Food and Ambience

I called into my daily “office” today, Kokois in Saigon’s Dostrict 2. I come here most afternoons to write in the peace and quiet of their indoor air-conditioned area. I like this place, the ambience is great and the coffee is excellent. It’s an ideal place to get some work done.

Today however I came for lunch then work afterwards. I do get more work done here than just about anywhere else. I suppose once one finds a space that feels comfortable, it just becomes more conducive to productivity.

Kokois a great mixed area
I went with the two course set lunch. I had the Tabouleh Salad for starters and followed it up with their Pork Loin. The portions look small upon arrival but they are perfectly adequate for a lunch and at VND 215, that’s less than $10, it represents good value. The coffee here is also fantastic value at VND30,000 (about $1.25). They provide a really good measure and its excellent quality.

Kokois is an unusual, quirky venue on Thao Dien. Its a large emporium sort of a place with a bar, restaurant, shop and both indoor and al fresco areas. It covers two floors in a great location.
