Cooking is definitely more fun when you are dad. With three years old around, holding hand between her and boiling oil, is mostly understood as a call for boxing-boxing!! and charging at that hand. Anyway, i have promised to make a Zucchini fortress for lunch, and there we are.
I have successfully repelled all the preemptive attacks, but as the battle continued she made some serious damage in the kitchen, so i had to switch sides and join her.
Usefull tip : When dealing with toddler, forget the standard names of dishes, it doesnt means nothing to them. Stick to castles, dragons, fortresses, tigers, storks, wizards and such as much as you can.
Simplified, we need just couple of ingredients
- One fresh white Zucchini >1kg
- 3 eggs
- cup of flour
- vegetable oil
Cut the both ends of Zucchini, and peel the skin. Slice it to >1cm.
Scramble the egs, add some salt to it /not too much.
Get the flour ready. Add some salt to flour too. Carefully, because thats all the salt. I dont know how much salt exactly, ive never measured it, and you can fix it later anyway.
Never put salt directly on Zucchini, it makes it soften too much and dripping wet (confirmed)
Its simple like this - slice goes into flour, then eggs, and then hot oil.
Fry it until they go seriously red.
Make a fortress, put some cheese tower, surround it with sour cream, and add some parsley.
Mustard seeds fits very well with all of this.
Also, everything we used is our domestic food, and we personally know the cow who gave us cheese and sour cream. Im not sure whats the name of cheese, we call it domestic. Same goes for sour cream.
Fortress has fallen quickly. I would add photos, but it could be disturbing for some viewers.
Next meal will be The Witches potion for giants. Stay tuned.
