Meet the Queen of the Tropical Fruits!
I've been pondering what to write next and finally decided to share about another wonder fruit I love!
Mangosteen may sound like my favorite fruit Mango but it's not literally like it. Mangosteen has a thick deep purple color skin or more like maroon. The edible part is the soft juicy white pulp inside it.
It has a unique taste but a bit similar to the typical fruit we called "Santol" or Cottonfruit because of it's delicious blend of sweet and a little sour taste.
Mangosteen was originally from Indonesia and eventually introduced in other parts of Southeast Asia, West India and Puerto Rico.
Being known of it's impressive health benefits, Mangosteen is also called the Queen of Tropical fruits! Well that explains the green crown. I'm wondering who is the King of the Tropical fruit? If anyone of you knows please feel free to write in the comment. I will really appreciate it 😁
According to my references, Mangosteen is loaded with Anti-Cancer properties containing Polyphenol substance called Xanthone. It's also rich in Vitamins C and good for the nervous, cardiovascular and immune system.
I just found out recently that the purple skin of this fruit that I used to throw away after eating the white pulp has also other benefits.
Thanks to my very nice neighbor here for sharing me some of the Mangosteen Tea she made out of dried Mangosteen shell.
I think this is the same thing they put in capsules that we often find expensive in pharmacies sold as food supplements.
This is my first time to try this kind of homemade tea. The tea I know are already in small tea bags. I really enjoyed it with honey and lemon or just a little sugar. I should be buying more of this fruit and also make my own tea. =)
So that's about me trying the Mango-Steem Tea! =) Until then. Have a great week Steemians!
With much love from Cebu,

Oh. I've seen this fruit in China many times but never tried because I didn't know how to eat it. Seems easy enough. I should give it a try.
Maybe you will like it too. It's good and doesn't taste like medicine. 😜
