One of my favourite Pho restaurants in Toronto

Maybe it's just because I have so many fond memories of coming here with labmates over the years, or maybe it's their kick-ass Pho broth that you know has been simmering for days. Either way, Pho Hung on the corner of Spadina and St. Andrew is one of my places to quench my Pho-rst (sorry, it's just Pho easy to make Pho puns, I can never resist).

My go-to dish is the small size rare beef pho, with the addition of satay spice (02A on their menu) and extra hot peppers that they give you on the side muddled in. Top it with all the accoutrements (bean sprouts, Thai basil, and a healthy squeeze of lime) and you've got a delicious and very filling meal for $7.50. Upgrade to the large or extra-large sizes (no medium, haha) if you're feeling extra hungry. I also like to add a "coconut juice" ($4.00) to help mitigate the inevitable fire in my mouth from all the delicious spice. It's coconut water that I'm sure they've added sugar to (which I wish they wouldn't), but it does come with chunks of real coconut in it, and it's ice cold. A nice little treat for a hot day like today.

Leaves me very full, but it's not overly heavy so I don't feel that food coma effect afterwards.

Do you have a favourite Pho place in Toronto that I should try? What dishes would you recommend?

Stay tuned ;)

This is one of my go to Pho places too. And, so nice to meet another Torontonian here @jackieobermeyer !!

Yes! Nice to meet you as well @steemit-foodie ! Do you have any other Pho-vourites? :P

I also really like Pho Tien Thanh on Ossington (if you can handle the all-pink interior, you might like it as well!). I think I've become a bit of a Pho broth snob... Hahaha

Yes - golden turtle on ossington is what I would recommend, love the broth there and so does Susur Lee. Another one is Pho Orchid on chestnut, love the authenticity of it.
