Are you familiar with the Golden Rule? Universality and reciprocity are rational principles for a moral framework to cover human interaction. Why do some people claim the authority to infringe upon others? Might cannot make right. Might is not reason. Yes, rights can be infringed, but this does not disprove the concept. The violation defines the boundary and describes the nature of the trespass. Rights say, "this is my sphere of authority, and that is yours." Civilization is built on respect for such spheres. Civilizations collapse when these spheres are not respected.
