First Time at Connaught Night Market...

Yes, the headline is correct. No joke! Despite living in Kuala Lumpur for so long, I have never go to the famous Connaught Night Market but I had my ex-colleague bought cake and food for me from the very same night market. The night market is common in Asia, a lot of countries also have a night market. Usually, at the night market, there is much variety of​ different type of merchant selling. As for Connaught Night Market, food are the highlights! Just look at my photos, all are food pictures.

Let dive into the photos, ​shall we? There are foods that I never thought it will be selling at the Night Market, full of surprise indeed.


Roasted Pork, I never thought that I will see this here. Surprised me


Siew Mai, usually you can get this when you go to the dim sum restaurant for breakfast.


I have no idea what the name of this but I love it because there is a ​peanut.


From the picture, I think you probably can see that this is huge therefore, the vendor cut it into small pieces to sell. Easy to eat too.


I got no idea what the name too, but this is definitely delicious.


Fried dumplings, yum! love it too


This is a huge bun, couldn't take other stuff to put beside it but it is huge!


Here we have freshly cut jackfruits


Seasonal Mangosteen, white in the inside, purple on the outside lol.


Lastly, sweet corn.

The night market is a long walk, by the time I arrive all of the vendors​ just started to get ready since it is just after work. If you go to Connaught Night Market at 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM, there is a ​chance that it is still not very crowded but you gotta stand the heat because the sun hasn't set yet. Overall, it is a great experience at the night market where you can buy all sort of food and enjoy it on the go.

            Ahh Connaught Pasar Malam. Tell you the truth, in the 20 years I lived in KL, more than 10 years was in Cheras, and I've only been to this pasar malam twice! BTW it's only opened every wednesday.

            This first food that you don't know the name is called jin loong bao (煎弄饱) in cantonese. In other parts of Malaysia it is also called dai gao min (大块面), also in cantonese. The type I like have corn in it, which makes it nutty and sweet.

              Seriously ah, only 2 times? Yeah, it's only Wednesday and cheras is an area where the traffic jam x2.
