Hello~!
Today I will talk about “Gyeran Jjim 계란찜” As we saw the Galbi-jjim for 5th post “KF 101(Korean food Intro)-5 “Galbi-jjim”” Jjim means steamed. So it is steamed egg!
This is quite simple to make with simple ingredients but very nutritious and importantly tasty! Ingredients are salted fish (or just salt, I personally add bit of fish sauce too), eggs (of course hehe), sesame seeds and oil, bit of green onion. I also sometimes add bit of paprika or red pepper too. Let’s take a look!
Yumyum, it is so soft and nice flavor. Because everyone loves this food, if you go to the restaurant or BBQ place or bar, some offer this as service (which is free offer).
🙂 Looks tasty. Maybe I should make one tonight! First you can put about 6 eggs, and 1/3 cup of water, and bit of salted shrimp or just salt. I put tiny bit of fish sauce. And then you can stir this very well. Now you can put the fire in the middle, you slowly keep stirring this. Otherwise, it might burn on the bottom or some part is so salty, the other parts are plain. . . And when egg is quite sticky and you see kind of bean size of egg stuff everywhere, that’s when you put the fire or electricity down to low, and put the lid on the pot. now you can do something else, like pokemon or something hehe but only for about 8 minutes or up to 10 minutes! if the top part looks solid, then it is good to eat, well if you like juicy eggs,,,, you can just eat without heating but um.. just enjoy yourself.
This is more refined version of gyeran jjim. I guess people use the sieve to refine it.
Hope this was useful, and please press the vote button, resteem, comment, and follow this blog.
Next week, I will talk about “Ddeokgalbi” which is kind of like meatpie or burger patty. It is amazing. Have a wonderful Christmas~!!
