A Delicacy of corn and plantains

These mouth watering delicacies are comon sights in Africa. Fresh corn peeled and placed on a metal mesh a few inches above the burning coal which is kept hot by fanning while the corn is occasionally turned to achieve a uniform browning of the roast, usually takes about 7-10 minutes to be ready for consumption.

The aroma of freshness from this snack can be appreciated tens of metres away.

It is by far the more preferred snack to other organic snacks around here as it has been observed that blue collar worker while in their air conditioned driven vehicle also stop to buy and enjoy this great source of vitamins and carbohydrate.
Looking closely,you would observe that there is also a nice looking plantain lying beside the corn. This is also being roasted and is enjoyed with groundnuts. I prefer it with peppered sauce made with chilli. A cultural heritage and an enjoyable meal. I would recommend this meal with a glass of cool orange or watermellon juice. You can't go wrong..(as long as you do not over eat it)
