You are what you eat ● Steem Bounty ●

You can find out numerous things about a person based on what and how they eat, because hunger symbolizes the wish to own something, some kind of greed, and eating is compensating this feeling.

If someone feels very emotional, they will try to temper the feeling in a physical way, by eating sweets.

The excessive need for sweet food shows that there’s a lack of satisfaction in the love life.

For example, kids who eat too much candy probably feel that they’re not loved enough by their parents.

Those who use their brain a lot because their work or school requires that, usually feel the need of eating salty foods and snacks.

The conservative people prefer smoked, precooked foods. They also love their tea really strong and bitter.

Those who prefer really spicy foods are obviously people who are always searching for new sensations.

People who don’t season their food are usually quiet, shy and they rarely take a risk. They prefer a usual way of living and their scared of the unknown.

Small kids eat mashed food, but sometimes adults eat their food mashed also and this is a proof of a childish tendency.

And when it comes to eating fish, most people eat it really carefully because they want to avoid swallowing a fish bone.

That’s a sign of fear in front of aggressiveness. On the other hand, there are some people who simply dive in and eat the fish without worrying to much that they might choke on a fish bone.

Those who are found in this category are usually people who are simply looking for problems. They prefer a complicated lifestyle because they believe that a life without difficulties is a boring one.

These are all examples that do not include people who are on a diet or that have health issues and they have to eat their food in a certain way.

What do you think, is the phrase “you are what you eat” really true?

"...how they eat..."

I have found this to be very telling about a person's emotional state. Aggressive wolfing down of food is a sure sign of anger.

Or a sign of fear that someone might take it from them!

I watched a young child (about 18 months old) once... he wolfed down half a banana in one bite! Upon talking to the child's mother, I found out that at home, he had to compete with a young puppy! It sure affected his way of eating!

That's phrase is truly right in my opinion eating good and healthy makes us fit and better :)

I've seen people literally transform into heavy piles in weeks because if this. Not only anger though i guess, extreme sadness and depression can also make people stress-eat

You are definitely what you eat. It better shows on you with regards to what you eat, be it weight, the glow and suppleness of your skin and even in terms of your mood and outlook.

Wow... I learnt more here.
What the idea of the topic was in my head was that, whatever one eats, will show in the body, be it, making one fresh or making one fat, etc.
Just like they say about photographs, the way you pose is the way you'll meet yourself in the picture

In really very many cases, these statements are true. I see so often in the shopping trolleys from strongly over-weighty humans just these articles which are known to cause over-weight.

Nyamiii .. Really intriguing. It looks very interesting.

Yes @jwolf the phrase 'you are what you eat' is absolutely correct. I do know that what a person eats speaks volume about his/her personality. You have really substantiate it with further insight.

The phrase seems to be mostly right. I also believe the saying "You can pay the farmer now or the doctor later" Good clean organic food keeps you healthy and prevents disease in the future. Do not eat processed food of any kind if you can. Absolutely no soda (diet or regular) limit your sugar intake to a minimum, no MSG, no high fructose corn syrup (anything the contains corn) no GMO, no artificial colors, no fast food or pretty much anything that has more than 3 ingredients in the label .

Very interesting information. Yes I do believe in the phrase "you are what you eat" if you eat unhealthy food you won't feel so great, but if you eat healthy food you'll be full of energy and you will feel great!

well i never perplex myself thinking about such things. i just enjoy my food... my diet is very varied, so i don't know what that makes me :D

This actually speaks volumes about what I eat. Problem is I don’t have a preference on which type of food to eat, because I can almost eat any food in front of me. 😂

The phrase "you are what you eat" is universally true.
It does not refer only to physical foods but also spiritual and mental ones.
Perhaps it would be better to say "you are what you consume".

And it was never as much true as in today's consumerist society of almost infinite choice. If all you consume is news of strife and violence you will become fearful and nervous (or "preemptively aggressive"). If you watch and read content predominantly from one side of the political spectrum, then that is what you will become. "Cognitive" or "filter" bubbles are a seemingly modern phenomenon but they are a clear manifestation of ancient "you are what you eat" principle.

And of course, if you eat crap food your physical body will become crap. If you consume crap information, your mental body will become crap as well.

I struggle to feed myself properly for some reason, always has been a problem, eventhough I love cooking for others..
So, if I "am what I eat" ..
Hmmm, what does that make me?

It's not only true psychologically speaking, it's quite literally true.

Some bears only eat blueberries and the meat of such bears also tastes sweet.

Yes, I think that “we are what we eat”.
Do you know that every food has his vibration?
Eating high or low vibration food is our choice. ;)

I agree that the phrase is probably true. BUT, I don't agree with most of the statements made here...

It is true that emotional eating is a serious issue - but whether the person chooses sweet or savory items surely is more of a genetic or childhood preference for such foods.

I don't think that a preference for sweet foods is necessarily a lack of good love right now - though could easily have roots in childhood issues. For instance, my husband has a serious carb tooth due, in part, to these being excessively restricted in youth. This child was not permitted candy, so is making up for it in adult life.

Salty snacks for brain food? Maybe, maybe not. My ex prefers salty foods, but my husband (equally brilliant) needs snacking in general - as do I when I'm working creatively.

I love smoked foods, but though I like my tea strong, I also like it milky and definitely not bitter!

I've never done much seasoning to my food and though yes, I try to take things cautiously, I also end up doing crazy things that none of my friends would try doing! Most of my closest friends consider me very brave.

Back to my husband - a lot of his snacking is done at super speed, and I think this is also due to the fact he had to sneak snacks as a child. He's never quite got over that!

So, those are my thoughts. I think a lot of eating issues are caused by parenting, not by some supernatural signs of current personality traits. (And I'm about as open to the paranormal as it gets!)

good food,great one post sir
