LOL! Yes, I separated the top and bottom sections of the cake with a cake board (waxed cardboard that is food safe) before icing it so I could just serve the top section. The bottom section just had to have a thin layer of icing on top before I could apply the chocolate ganache drip.

Now it makes all sense! And that is a great idea! It gives a really impressive first cake for sure!
