Starting off the weekend with an empty stomach is always an impossible thing to do. The best way to spend the first moments of your weekends is to fill your tummy with good food.Last week, we decided to go and have our breakfast at the restaurant that serves dim sum and we would like to share our experience with all of you so that you could try out this place if you ever come to Malacca for a visit. We are regular customers there and we do visit it quite often. I would consider this restaurant one of the good places to have dim sum in Malacca because they serve a wide variety of Dim Sum and it tastes pretty good. The person in the picture below is my girlfriend Win Nee and she loves breakfast as much as I do and I'm sure you do too cause everybody loves breakfast =D.
Restaurant name: Restaurant Siow Kim Hin
Location: Jalan Bukit Beruang 3, Taman Bukit Melaka, 75450 Melaka, Malaysia
Operation Hours: Opened Tuesday to Sunday, 5 a.m to 1 p.m
Closed Every Monday
Prawn Wantan
This is the prawn wantan that they have deep fried. The fillings are filled with fish, paste and actual shrimps and they are seasoned to perfection. As you can see, the prawn wantans are fried until they are golden and are very crispy. It has a distinct taste and the amount of salt added into the fillings are just the right amount. We usually order two mini plates of prawn wantan so that we can each have 3 pieces as it is just too delicious to share.
Price: RM5.00 (1.19 USD) per plate (3 pieces)

Siew Mai
The Siew Mai is a traditional Chinese Dumpling which is cooked through the process of steaming. The main ingredients in Siew Mai are pork, shrimp and dough. The version that we have ate also has fish eggs which are place on the top of the Siew Mai. Personally, I do like the Siew Mai because it has a nice texture. The pork in the siew mai is tasty and the dish itself is healthy because of the way it is cooked which is by steam. This reduces the usage of oil which are most commonly used in deep frying. Despite the fact that it is cooked in a healthy way, it would still be a good snack as it tastes very good.

Big Fish Balls
The next dish that we ordered is the big fish ball. They are made from fish paste and they are cooked by steaming. The fish ball in this dim sum shop is large. I do like not eat fishballs, however, my girlfriend likes fish ball.
Price: RM3.50 (0.84USD) per plate (3 pieces)

Yam Cake
We also ordered some fried yam cake. The yam cake has a very soft texture in the middle yet the outside is so crunchy. The yam is also very tasty as there were enough seasoning. I prefer to eat it without any sauces as I feel the taste is quite good. My girlfriend on the other hand would have the yam with some thai chili sauce which is a mixture of chili sauce and garlic.
Price: RM3.50(0.84 USD) per plate ( 2 slices)

Da Bao
The Da Bao or big pau is an extra large chinese steemed bun. The extra large chinese steam bun is one of my favourite because it has adequate amount of protein and the serving portion is large. The fillings are large chunks of pork in black ginger sauce and a half sliced portion hard boiled egg. This extra large pau is definitely something I must have when I am having dim sum and is one of my favourite foods. There are a few different other types of pau served there but I guess I always would choose the extra large one because the bigger, the better.
Price: RM3.30 (0.79USD) per extra large chinese steam bun
