My last flight with Etihad was a real pleasure. I usually do not fly Etihad as i like flying direct, but as i had to visit a Friend in Dubai so i used Etihad from Asia.
Oh boy, i hit the jackpot! Having upgraded the flight using Miles, i got further upgraded to FIRST CLASS !
So i was escorted from checkin to the newly opened super cool First-class Lounge.
It has its own shaving, massage, restaurant, cigar lounge, bar, buffet and relaxing room and family rooms.
I didn't expect to be upgraded, so i was 1.2 hour prior to departure at the airport, so i had only 55 minutes, but i made every minute count and ordered the following dishes;)
Starter:
Scallop and special yellow peas
Foie Gras with Fusion Cherry Jelly
Both starters were perfect. The Foie Gras was very good (same as in france) and the scallops were very juicy.
Main
Lamb Chops with Rice and Vegetables
Very good tasting lamp chops, not too dry!
Dessert
Creme Caramel with Ice
I would kill for this dessert, its really one of the best i had in a long time
So am i willing to pay 10.000 $ for a first-class flight if i had the money to do so every time? Probably not, but the experience was amazing.
The food here is so much better than anything i have ever eaten on bord of a plane. So if you fly first, eat in the lounge, take a massage, take a shower and move into your Etihad Residence Bed ;)
I loved the lounge, but i could only do a 15 min free massage after eating and than i was up in the air.
The whole flight i slept, it was heaven. A whole bed for myself in the sky in a private Cabin ;)

i think the dessert and the starter were the best! really awesome food, i would have paid for this kind of meal 100$ in a normal restaurant.

But i was not so lucky, i was "only" upgraded to the normal firstclass cabin, which is very private too, but does not have a butler like the etihad appartment ;) but still i enjoyed (slept) every minute ;) didnt eat any food on bord... was too full...

yeah, it was no normal ice, it was a molecular style ice , so it was totally insane
always wondered how the food is...now i know:D
its really good in that lounge. the food is better than inn many restaurants you would go for a birthday!
