I have not been doing this in a while now. I have been concentrating more on @ulogs. Which is a great initiative because this focuses more on you. This can actually be a @ulog in itself because it is about my morning.

With this photo, I started with lemons. I was inspired by one winning photo I saw in one of the posts of @juliank. It was a very simple photo and the subject are lemons. So I started with the lemons first and then tried throwing in this and that like the celery, chili and capsicum.

I like the smell of those especially the pineapples because how sweet it is.

We always buy lemon because we use it to make lemon water and add a little lemon in our cooking. You should do it, too. I especially like putting it in vegetable dishes.

I hope by now you already know the benefits of lemon. Lemons help in treating indigestion, constipation, high blood pressure, etc. Lemon also helps in kidney stones and respiratory disorders. Not only will it benefit your skin and hair but it also helps in cleansing your stomach. Due to its therapeutic benefits it also helps in strengthening your immune system.

Lemon water is easy to make. This gained popularity since its benefits have been made known even more and it is now served in cafes and restaurants where before they just serve plain water. Add slices of lemons in your water and add mint, too.

This month we are celebrating our Independence Day which will be on June 12. Yey! No work. No classes. National holiday. For those who work in offices. However, for those who work in BPOs and online it is not our holiday. We will got to work.

That gave me an idea for my photo above and also the recently celebrated National Flag Day last May 28.

We have lots of these so called eco-bag so I used those in my photo. Since use of plastic bags is banned, stores have now switched to using paper bags and eco-bags. For me, it is the same thing. Yes, we reduced the use of plastic, which is great, but we increased the use of paper. Note: Cutting more trees which make me question what did we achieve?

With plastic, you can put more before its breaking point. However, with paper bags, they are easily torn. They are more fragile.

So anyway, Philippine flag consists of blue, red, yellow and white colors. I chose those colors except white and chose orange and violet bags to give additional color to the photo. I tried using natural lighting but for this one a flash is not bad. I placed those in a wooden bench to give texture to the photo. I arranged eight lemons around the pineapple. These represents the eight provinces who started significant revolution against the Spaniards. Some say it represents the provinces which were under martial law during the First Philippine Revolution. Read more of the Philippine flag here.

That's little bit of history for you.

Advance Happy Independence Day to my kababayans!
