Here's a recipe I made up for some of the most delicious beans you've ever put in your mouth. Matter of fact these go great with a big ol' slab of cornbread. Throw some onions on top and you've got a meal fit for your last day on earth. That's right, you can die happy after having a bowl of these. The ingredients are listed below:
Pi's Bomb-ass Crock Pot Beans
16 0z Bag of Great Northern
1 Lbs Bacon Ends
1 Lbs Ground Pork
1 Large Onion
1 Garlic Bulb
4 Basil Leaves
4 Sage Leaves
1 Cube Beef Bouillon
1/4 cup White Wine
12 Cups of water
4 Tbs Salt
Wash and clean your beans. Let them soak in salt water overnight.
The next day take your crock pot and set it on high. Chop up onion, garlic, basil, sage and bacon ends into rough pieces. Take ground pork and roll it all up into small meatballs.
Sautee onions, garlic, basil, sage, bacon ends, and pork in hot crock pot until rendered and browned.
Deglaze the sauteed meaty, veggie goodness with the wine.
Put the beans and as much of the water as you can in with the meat and veggies.
You can keep the crock pot on high for a couple of hours if you like. Just remember to stir occasionally and frequently.
Eventually turn the crock pot to low and let it marinate for the rest of the day until dinner.
You will not be disappointed folks!
