Cornbread is a form of quick bread made using maize meal/corn meal that you can enjoy as a savoury accompaniment with your meal.
Follow the steps and see if you can make yours like this
200g maize flour, 75g all purpose flour, 1tsp baking powder, 25g margarine /butter, 1tsp salt, 1.5tsp sugar, 1egg, 300ml milk
Add all the dry ingredients together and mix well
beat the egg and add to the milk
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, give it a good mix until all flour is mixed through
Melt the margarine /butter and add to the batter and whisk until fully mixed through
Ready for baking
Line your baking tin with grease proof/parchment paper and pour the batter
Flatten to make it neat
Pre-heat your oven to 190°c
After 20 minutes, using a shallow baking tin like the one above, the cornbread will be ready
You know it's ready when lightly browned on the edges
