HOW TO MAKE A CAIPIRISSIMA COCKTAIL 🍹 (PHOTOS + RECIPE + VIDEO TUTORIAL)

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Salutations Steemit Friends!

What better way to kickoff an August weekend than with a light and refreshing libation. Fellow tipplers, allow me to introduce you to the Caipirissima Cocktail - she's one fresh drink!

Think of the Caipirissima as the sweet little sister of the Caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail. The difference between the two is that the Caipirissima is made with light rum rather than the Brazilian spirit cachaça.

Really, the Caipirissima is so quick and easy to make! Like its cousin the Cuban Mojito (learn and watch how to make a Mojito here), this is also a muddled drink but with fewer ingredients.

If you don't have light rum on hand, no worries. Instead, substitute with vodka to create a Caipivodka (a.k.a. Caipiroska).

Caipirissima Recipe 🍹

Ingredients

1 lime, halved, then quartered
2-3 tsps sugar (white or cane)
3 fl oz light rum

Directions

  1. In a sturdy rocks glass, muddle lime wedges and sugar with the end of a wooden spoon or a cocktail muddler.

  2. Fill glass with ice.

  3. Pour 3 fl oz light rum over ice and mix ingredients with a bar spoon.

  4. Serve, sip and enjoy!

Haha! I love your use of descriptive words! Yes, the "sweat" on the glass does looks sexy. Must be the Brazilian inspiration ; )

One of my all time favs. Getting a booze just looking at it.

Yay for faves! I think it's like booze and bossa nova in a glass!

Thank you! And have fun experimenting ; )

amazing coctel

Thanks! It was delish ; )

Must say @michellectv that drink looks incredible! Definitely going to get some light rum this weekend (any recommendations?) and make this!

You can use good old Bacardi, doesn't require something special. But if you have a top shelf rum, go with it, mix it up and have fun.

Also, adding fresh fruit like passion fruit or berries to your muddled mix can fancy this up.

Very very cool. Thank you! Will be sharing some of my own cocktail recipes here very soon! Stay tuned...!
