There are so many great restaurants in Koreatown in LA, but The Bun Shop is definitely one you should check out. It's a cool spot where you can hangout with friends just on the corner of Council st and S Western Ave. I like how they also cater to everyone and have a lot of options for vegetarians as well. I also enjoy that the menu is pretty simple and isn't overly complicated. Don't let that fool you though, their food is packed with so much flavor and everything of the menu sounds delicious! Therefore my friend and I had to get a little bit of everything.
As you can see everything looks really delicious! There were so many great options I don't even know where to start.
I have to say my favorite buns out of the six flavors that they had would have to be their signature bun, which is the kalbi bun. The braised beef just had so much flavor you just didn't want it to end! I almost always prefer sweet potato fries wherever I go but I've got to say that their garlic fries were very good. So good that I started stealing my friends' fries instead on eating my own. You also really have to try the corn cheese, I mean it's just heaven! Before this, I had never seen anything like this dish. It had pork belly, sauteed corn, jalapeno, scallions, mozzarella and sweetened butter. So if you're a cheese fan I say go for it, I just wish it came with chips to pick it up with, I just ate it with the fries.
Last but certainly not least is the deep fried Oreos served with green tea ice-cream. This is honestly something you just have to get no matter what! It is the perfect combination, you really won't want to stop eating it. Everyone who I've brought here has absolutely loved the dessert, doesn't matter if you're full you have to make room for this dish.
Hope you enjoyed my review and found it helpful, enjoy your lovely monday steemit family!
