I'm taking a slight detour from my usual vlog posts and posting about food today! More specifically, smoothies -- in a bowl! I never realized a smoothie could come in a bowl, especially since I had a strict smoothie-in-glass rule, no alternatives. I also didn't realize that you could ingest a smoothie any other way than drinking it so obviously the smoothie bowl concept was way out there for me. That is until I tried one a few weeks ago! OMG it was amazing. I never thought a smoothie could be so cool and so delicious. So I decided to dedicate this post to smoothie bowls everywhere. Though I've only had two - the first of which was at Plnthouse in Miami, the second of which I made at home (I'm now obsessed - like seriously - I'm about to make one as soon as I finish typing).
Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the smoothie bowls that I'm now in love with. Ingredients are pretty simple - its just a smoothie (any kind you desire) with some fruit, granola, and whatever garnish you like. That's it! So simple, yet so ingenious.
This smoothie bowl I had at Plnthouse is made with:
- Acai
- Banana
- Camu
- Dates
- Granola
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Coconut flakes
And this smoothie bowl I made at home. Ingredients of which are:
- Papaya
- Banana
- Cinnamon
- Turmeric
- Almond milk
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- 1 kind bar (crumbled)
- Chia seeds
- Flax seeds
If you're a smoothie person and haven't tried a smoothie bowl I seriously recommend trying one! They are amazing! Ok, that's it for this post -- Have a great day everyone!
