When we aren't cooking for them, we just turn them loose on the yard and let them forage for wild edibles. (LOL)

Sounds like your children are having a great childhood!
One time on a camping trip near Yosemite we made a blackberry cobbler with berries we picked on the shore of the lake next to the campsite of Bass Lake. How does life get any better than that when camping.
WOW! That sounds wonderful. I was thinking of doing a foraging post where I teach my oldest daughter about some of the wild edibles.
