This was really cool!
Our visit with @grandpa-pepper and my mom has come to an end. They were able to show up a bit prior to the arrival of our newest child "Belle-Pepper" and enjoyed some time with our family after the delivery. While here, my mom helped out with meals and even made a few of my old favorites, including Ribbon Jello!
RIBBON JELLO - EASY ENOUGH, BUT INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL
With Jello available in easy to use packets, the making of this tasty treat is not all that difficult. To put a fun spin on this old favorite, someone came up with the idea of Ribbon Jello, and I've enjoyed this dessert since my childhood, and it was cool to see and eat once again; plus my children were able to enjoy it as well.
Basically, different colors of jello are slowly allowed to set in a large baking dish. Once the first layer solidifies, the next layer is poured and allowed to do the same. To change up the layers a bit, my mom adds evaporated milk to every other layer, making them opaque instead of translucent.
The end result is as attractive as it is delicious, and I may have to make some myself one day (can't rely on my mommy to make it for me forever). Anyway, I saved one piece to photograph and share off for y'all. Have you ever saw ribbon jello before? Have you ever made or eaten any?

Did you look at the ingredients? Gelatin is made from swine so to find a Biblically clean gelatin you have to really look for it. Seeing as I know you don't eat swine anymore I just wanted to make sure!

COOL! I actually taught myself how to make rainbow jello. The problem is it takes 8 hours to make. But it is so worth it when you are done. You will have the coolest most colorful psychedelic blob of jello.
This is a unique cake color, friend, in our place, the name of this cake is layer cake, the usual color in our place is black and white with a mixture of brown.

Can't say that I have had the pleasure of enjoying ribbon jello myself, but I am definitely inspired. I am a swallowing therapist and enjoy sharing new ways to increase the visual appeal, safety, flavor, and nutrition of texture-modified foods. The idea to layer different flavors and colors is very attractive and the addition of the milk can also fortify the jello with extra nutrients, while achieving the color contrast your mom created as. I hope to share a dessert recipe that utilizes this soon!
