How to make Cansi Soup

Hi Fellow Steemers,

Here is a Traditional comfort food for those who are from Bacolod City, it is similar to Linaga but there is a difference on what kind of meat you use. I'd like to share to you the recipe of my mother who was the person behind the food of Conee's cansi house.

How to make Cansi soup

Ingrdients:

Beef shank

butter
oil
onions
ginger
garlic
sinigang mix or batwan

lemon grass

salt
pepper
jackfruit (raw)

achuete
water
chili pepper

first you need to saute the garlic with butter and oil wait until its color turned dark then mix the onions and ginger. as soon as it look cooked put in the beef shank, saute until the beef looks pale and white. then add water. let it boil until it tenders. around 30 mins to 1 hour. now as soon as the meat is tender enough mix the sinigang mix, pepper and salt. just try to estimate on how much pepper and salt depends on how you like it. mix the jack fruit boil for 15 mins. mix the lemon grass.you need a strainer for the achuete, put the achuete in the strainer and dip it in the soup several times until the soups color turned reddish. boil for 10 mins, mix the bell pepper and boil another 15 mins. now your cansi soup is ready.
