For this restaurant post, I review the popular W Cafe. For those who are not South African - Woolworths is one of the longest standing grocery stores in SA. It has evolved into a clothing, homeware and lifestyle store, known for its upmarket, quality ingredients and clothing. It's a bit posh (some might say pretentious π) but I especially like the special ingredient aisle and the homeware. Woolworths has just opened their W Cafe, with an emphasis on fresh and healthy ingredients.
I had been driving the entire morning and was hot, thirsty and STARVING. I sat down at a small table and tried to catch the waitress' attention, but, nothing. I sat for quite a while without service. Finally, a waitress came over and I ordered a flat white and got a copy of the menu.
The menu had so many options. Loads of well thought out, healthy dishes. I was torn between a salad with falafels and quinoa and helping myself to the harvest table, which looked gorgeous. The harvest table won, obviously, as I love veggies and salads, and there were so many different choices, I couldn't resist.
I dished myself some of the Cous Cous salad, the beans with rosa tomatoes, grilled veggies, and OF COURSE, hummus with a flatbread. I also had one of the crispy tuna fishcakes, which were really good. The fish was seasoned perfectly, with little pieces of onion, and then fried perfectly, until the outside had a beautiful crunch.
I must say, I thought it was a bit overpriced, but I did also expect that. My plate came to R80 ($6.60) which is (in my opinion at least) a bit much for a bit of vegetables and a fish cake. I would have easily paid R65 ($5.40) but hey, c'est la vie! It is Woolworths afterall.
The interior is bright and modern, with accents of yellow. I really felt like I was not in the middle of the mall, which was nice. It was a nice break in a busy day.

Ey I tried pescatarian once for 3months, it was good but I couldn't keep up with it. And you're right, when I told that to my friends, they don't have a clue about it.

well, it's not really that strange when you have a look at the etymology of the word
pesce is italian (and most likely derived from Latin) for fish, and the suffix arian is normally affix to words like this such as vegetarian, libertarian etc
Wiktionary says of the suffix arian:

I wonder if they serve all of those food fresh. Looks like there are too many options and they can't be consumed in a day. I hope they are not serving the same food for 2 days. Place looks classy and relatively cheap. Hope you enjoyed.
I got there around 12pm, and it was about half way. It's a really busy mall, I'm sure it was all done by 10pm when the shop closes π It's nice to see you!

We used to have woolworths here....I havent' been in one in ages. Food looks pretty good. Almost Nordstroms cafe type of thing.
