Prawns in coconut gravy and Pasta is a good combination .This is very tasty and delicious.
PRAWNS IN COCONUT GRAVY
Ingredients:
Prawns - 250 grams
Grated coconut - 1/2 c
Coconut pieces (small) - 2 T
Onion - 1 (small)
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Garlic -3-4 cloves
Roasted coriander powder -1 1/2 t
Roasted chilly powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder -1/2 tsp
Roasted fenugreek powder -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
A small piece of tamarind or one tomato
Cooking oil -2 T
Salt - to taste
For garnishing:
Shallots -2
Mustard seeds - 1 t
red chilly -1
Curry leaves -2 stalks (optional)
Cooking oil - 1 T
Method :
Remove the shell and clean the prawns.
Chop the onion finely and chop the coconut into small pieces.
Grind the dry ingredients together with ginger and garlic.
Grind the grated coconut separately.
Cut the tomato into small pieces.
Heat the oil in a pan and saute the coconut pieces first and then sliced onion.
Add the ground paste of powders , salt ,ginger and garlic and stir well.
Add prawns into this and add little water and cook for a few minutes.
Add tomato ,when the prawns are cooked .
Finely add coconut paste, stir well, just boil and remove from fire.
Lastly garnish the dish by heating the oil,put mustard ,red chilly,then finely chopped shallots and saute until brown, pour this over the dish .Garnishing improves the flavor and taste.
This can be served with cooked pasta.
PASTA WITH VEGETABLES
Ingredients:
Pasta - 200 grams
Carrot - 1
Beans - 6-7
Green pepper - 1 small
Onion - 1
Ginger -1/2 inch piece
Garlic -3-4 cloves
Ground pepper - 1/2 t
Meat spice -1/2 t (optional)
Butter /margarine -2 T
Salt - to taste
Method:
Cook the pasta in boiling water with salt.
Slice the onion and cut other vegetables lengthwise.
chop ginger and garlic finely.
Heat butter and saute the the onion .
Add ginger ,garlic and vegetables and stir fry it.
Finely add cooked pasta, pepper and spices and serve hot with prawns.
