Time for some veggies too...

in #food7 years ago

Today i decided to try a smoothie with some veggies too...not my favorite kind, but still healthy.

Grapes, cucumbers, radish with a splash of lemon, mint and coriander

Ingredients

200 g of grapes
2 cucumbers (or 1 big one)
2 radishes
1 lemon
2 sprigs of fresh coriander
2 sprigs of fresh mint

Tools

Manual Juicer
Food chopper
Small Sieve

HOW TO PREPARE IT

Wash the grapes and the radishes.

Peel the cucumbers.

4.JPG

Cut everything in small pieces.

5.JPG

Put them in the food chopper and turn it on for a few seconds or until you get them all chooped.
Instead of food chopper u can always just chop them in really small pieces and use whatever you want or some other tool to squeeze the juice.

6.JPG

Cut the lemon in half and squeeze all that juice.

Add the fresh lemon juice with the chopped mix.

Take a small sieve and put it over a glass. With a spoon start draining the juice.
The reason why a sieve is needed is because of the seeds in the grapes and cucumbers.

Take 2 leaves of mint and 2 of coriander and break them between your fingers (i decided to do that instead of chopping them) and throw them in the glass.

Take fancy pics again!

The recipe is a little different than what i did here. Instead of adding the coriander and mint at the end, you should mix them in the chopper with the grapes, radishes and cucumbers, but because i am not so fond of coriander i decided not to do that.

Of course if u are a fan of either or both you can just add them with the rest and chop them together. The flavour will be strong.

This smoothie is one of the most refreshing i ever tried. It can also be served with ice, but my fruits and veggies were already cold from the fridge.

Because of the low count on calories is perfect after a work out or in a very hot day.

Coriander (known as cilantro or Chinese parsley), has a high iron content, that helps with anemia and because of its strong anti-histamine properties it's perfect to reduce the effects of seasonal allergies.

Both lemon and cucumber juice contain vitamin C, which is always good for health, while radishes help with the our potassium levels.

Hope you are going to enjoy this smoothie and cheers!!

I was already following you.
I have had several failed attempts to become vegetarian.
Some of them are very funny stories.

Oh i don't plan on becoming vegetarian. I could never give up meat, but i do plan on eating healthier.
