Pita bread always reminds me of a trip I took to Kiev once and went to a Mexican restaurant. Inside, they didn't have tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, and absolutely nothing spicy. They didn't even have salsa...
It was instead a culturally modified Ukrainian version of what Mexican food should be like.
Instead of tacos, they used pita bread. Instead of the traditional Mexican ingredients, they had carrots, peas, zucchini, and a white sauce that resembles mayonnaise or sour cream.
Well, not my idea of a Mexican restaurant. I have to say that your picture brings back my appetite for pita bread.
