How many of you knew that Cacao (Theobroma cacao) is actually a fruit? That's right the much loved chocolate that most people have eaten starts out as a pod like fruit of the Cacao, then the seeds called cacao beans are removed and processed into delicious chocolate. The Cacao tree is native to Central and South America it grows up to 26 feet. There is evidence for the cultivation and use of Cacao by humans dating back to 1900 BC.
