I am Rick from SteemSynergy. I am a food lover and I am a vegetarian. Just want to make a quick post to share with you some snapshots of the vegetarian food that I enjoy here in Asia.
If you are living on the other side of the world, you probably have never seen or tried them before. Enjoy the photos!
Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh and Charcoal-Grilled Fish. The focus of the Bak Kut Teh is its broth. It is made from herbs and spices. For Non-Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh, pork ribs are usually cooked together with the broth. But for Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh, we replace it with tauhu or what is popularly known as tofu.
The fish in Charcoal-Grilled Fish is made from soybean fiber and protein. It comes with lady finger and a chinese tangerine. Again, before you start eating, I recommend that you squeeze the tangerine into the fish.
Vegetarian Satay and Clay Pot Chicken Rice. Satay usually comes in 10 sticks. Vegetarian satay is made from soy protein. The satay sauce is usually made from peanuts and its has sweet and spicy taste.
The vegetarian chicken is made from soy protein as well. The rice and the chicken is normally cooked on a pan before placed into the clay pot. The clay pot is warmed before serving to keep the food at a nice temperature.
Vegetarian Vietnam Mee. Just like Jawa Mee, the main ingredient of the sauce is the humble tomato, but unlike the Jawa Mee, it does not contain peanuts. In additional to that, the sauce is cooked with Laksa flower to add extra aromatic smell. Compared to Jawa Mee, it smells better, tastes slightly sweeter, and is less sour.
I personally like Vietnam Mee better than Jawa Mee.
This is a Korean style black pepper vegetarian fish. The fish is made from soy protein and seaweed. The fish is really crispy because it is deep fried. It comes with Kimchi which has sour and slightly spicy taste.

No problem. Yes, almost all the some call "vegetarian meat" is made from soy protein.
I am planning to go to Asia for a period of time. As a vegetarian I was really worried that I won't be able to find food for me. Thank you for this post! Now I am excited to go even because of food. :)
No problem. ;) If you are travelling to Singapore or Malaysia, finding vegetarian food shouldn't be a problem. Not so sure about other countries, it is best to do some research before you go there.
