RE: Miss. Delicious #70 : Virgil's real BBQ at Atlantis!

My problem with Korean BBQ is that it isn't actually a BBQ! I actually really like the slightly burnt taste from the wood used to burn the fire. Every korean bbq i've ever been to has basically been a Teppanyaki. Of course it's delicious but it doesn't feel authentically barbecued, hope you know what I mean..

As for the chips, well I appreciated them weird as they are!

Ah I see. I know what you mean @sweetsssj, however here in Sydney all the Korean BBQ is cooked over open coals. It tastes so so good! Teppanyaki style is reserved for the Japanese restaurants (really good one in Darling Harbour, Sydney). Grace and I just went to a Japanese Degustation and it was scrumptious! I think Southern BBQ is all about the sauce. The cuts of meat are sometimes secondary from my experience. There is so much good food out there though, just have to keep travelling to taste it all! Not many American Style restaurants in Australia but I'll still search for them. Thanks for your reply :)
