When it comes to cocktails, garnish is kind of the swipe right moment for tasting a drink. I love using mint as it not only adds flourish but a beautiful aroma which can enhance the taste of a cocktail.
What you need:
Mint
Simple Syrup
Edible glitter/sparkle flakes (Michael's baking section for the win here)
The process:
Wash and thoroughly dry the mint
Make simple syrup - equal parts water and sugar brought to a boil and then cooled - and brush it lightly onto each leaf
Give it a few minutes to get tacky, test with your fingertip, if it is sticky you are good to go
Sprinkle away
Allow to dry
I found that they wilt within an hour or so, make sure to place in an airtight container or freeze them for future use.
